The Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research (FAIRLDS.org) is hosting the the sixth annual FAIR Mormon Apologetics Conference, August 5-6, 2004, at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah. I’ll be in Utah in August myself but not during the conference, otherwise I would love to go. If you are able to attend, please let me know what you thought of it. They have some outstanding speakers with impressive backgrounds. My guess is that the quality of information they will present will be one more reason why some intelligent non-Mormons have noted that the anti-Mormons are generally losing the battle without knowing it.

I think the “losing the war” by anti-Mormons is a bit hyperbole. I think that especially with the internet it is very easy to do sleazy anti-Mormon stuff. I also think that, in part, the leveling off of church growth may be attributed to it.
What I think Carl Mosser and company were more speaking of were more “honest” attacks on Mormon theology. In that regard it is more of a philosophical battle. I think there we are winning, as our theology avoids many of the problems that traditional Christianity faces. But that is of interest to only a very small number of people.
