Lessons from Mexico

There were several things I encountered during my recent trip to Mexico with possible relevance to the Book of Mormon. For example, ancient figurines at Monte Alban (near Oaxaca) show facial types unlike the typical Native American stock of today, including men with beards, as shown below.

We also saw the ruins at Monte Alban and also in Teotihuacan, where cement was used anciently, consistent with Book of Mormon descriptions about building with cement in the lands north of the narrow neck of land.
