Shaking Man

I encountered this sculpture, “Shaking Man” by Terry Allen, 1993, in a San Francisco park last year. I ran across it again tonight and thought I’d ask for your creative thoughts. Can you suggest some ways that this sculpture can be used to illustrate some Gospel principles? The person who gives the answer I like best will win 30 seconds of fame, though not necessarily here. 1. He’s trying to shake every hand, please every person he meets. Trying to win the praise of the world can leave you on shaky ground.

  2. D&C 1:7

Wherefore, fear and tremble, O ye people, for what I the Lord have decreed in them shall be fulfilled.

  3. heres a couple,
    Acts 17: 29
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

    Col. 2: 9
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

    3 Ne. 11:27
27 And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.

  4. He is trying to do everything. Without having a solid base of what is most important to you, there are a million things that seem to demand attention at any given moment. He is in the thick of thin things.
